So, I thought about getting highlights. So, I thought about going all out full head either brunette or blonde or purple. So, I thought about how many people I've seen recently with fake blonde hair that just looks trashy, or unnatural, or just plain wrong. Highlights are a great idea, if you can afford the upkeep and maintainence. Especially with summer coming and all, it's nice to see a golden glowing shiny mane, that's a lovely image to hold in your mind's eye, but so often - it just looks tacky and tinny. Yet still, I found myself yearning for a hint of a honey tint. So, I thought about this, talked about this and was told that my hair is blonde. So now, I don't need to change it.
So, I thought about how all it was that made me want to keep with the colour au naturel was an objective description of my hair as blonde. How easily we are influenced by others, eh? Whether it's the truth or not I guess doesn't matter so much, 'cause actually, I find I quite like it the way that it is.

ReplyDeleteMy natural hair colour is a mousey dull brown. Currently it's a colour that is called 'Caramel'; it's a bit brown and a bit red and a bit ginger and a bit blonde. I quite like it :)
Last summer, it was a dark dark brown that literally GLOWED red where the sun hit it. It was gorgeous, but too dark when not in sunshine, so I won't go back to it...for a while, anyway!

ReplyDeleteI've wanted to have purple streaks in my hair but then again I really didn't. I don't know, I've got something against the dying of hair - I suppose because sometimes it can look awful then again other times it can look yummy.
I'll stick to having brown hair I guess. Stick with your colour too, foo' :oD

ReplyDeleteI'm with Hannah on having something against hair dye. Nature's normally pretty good at working out what suits us so why mess with that?
Having said that, I have been considering getting highlights for the past three years or so. I've never done it 'cos they're just so damn expensive (and yes, look tacky if they're done badly). I think my hair may be too dark to take a lot of colours anyway, so...!
