Cabin Fever

Today, I have done the same as every day.

It's not even ten o'clock. Already I have begun the tireless cycle that is my life of the moment: do work? do nothing? do work! do nothing...do work? do nothing! do nothing? do work! do work, do nothing, do nothing, do work! Talk about doing nothing, talk about doing work, talk about love, life, dirty dishes and dishing the dirt. There's nowhere to go. A walk seems pointless - to uni? to town? I just want to wander without purpose. But there's no place for that, need to go somewhere, need to do something. Constantly diverted along the road of procrastination: destination unknown.

  1. Walk to the library. Means you get outside for a bit, get a change of scenery, and once there, you can do some revision distraction-free (probably).

Or walk and get some fruit - it is especially tasty in this weather and it doesn't need cooking ;-)

You've drawn your curtains as well? I hate doing it because I'm very much a natural light person, but my bedroom has a large, south-facing bay window - lovely except for the heat-amplification effect!

  3. I read that blog Dickie wrote about going to the library and being able to study a little while back and so I started doing the same thing. It works!!
It's a bit of a drag carting all my books and notes around but I feel I'm taking things in and it's not so lonely, I've bumped into a people I know and had a chat. Makes me feel less cut off :o)

It looks nice outside your window from the little green I can see

  4. Y'see I find the university library claustrophobic. Too quiet, too many people working with their heads down, too trapped. In my bedroom I can set my own agenda.

Having said that, if my degree was permanently more self-study, I think that that might change and love my housemates as I do, I guess it would be nice to see someone else this week... If you don't work well in your room, it's a different tack, at least.

    Dickie: study guru now, eh?!

    They are here again today.

It helps that the internet is down at home so I have to come in and use it in Uni. I tend to bring my ipod with me though that battery died about 20mins ago. I just zone out and get on with it, too many distractions at the house.

Seems like Dickie is a bit of a study guru!

  6. Lol, the irony.

    *puts Lost on*

(in my defence, the library is sweltering at the moment. I tried to do some work there earlier and almost fell asleep.)

  7. I have successful stringed out a reply to a few comments into a whole 'nother entry! Wahey, why use one paragraph, when you can write five?! :oP

Library would make sense, if only it didn't make me lose the will to live. Plus - sixty pee for a cup of tea!?

I like to have my cake and read it too:
