...but not why I keep going on about it ;o)
Reasons I do chemistry:
- It's logical and full of patterns.
- There's usually an absolute correct answer.
- To prove I'm clever.
- For the astounded response upon first confession of degree course.
- If you can do chemistry, you can do almost anything.
- The guy who promoted it on open day is one of the nicest, most helpful academics I've come across. He's lovely.
- Most of the lecturers genuinely do want us to do well; they're not there to catch us out.
- My fellow geeky cliquey chemistry chums, growing in number by the day, and the way we bond (chemical bond, geddit? hawhehaw...) with each other over the difficulty of our proper degree.
- One of the PhD students at my initial interview was really hott.
I've finally completed my difluorodiazene coursework. I'm going to do good in it. Awesome.

so the two big reasons were "he's lovely" and "he was really hott." that's awesome.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I'm rational like that. :oD
ReplyDeleteI can see that reasoning. Guys wouldn't understand :oP

'For the astounded response upon first confession of degree course.'
ReplyDelete"You're a student?! What degree do you do then?"
"Maths!"
"... Oh..." (followed by some comment about how much they hated Maths aged 14. And then the conversation dies. I would imagine that the Chemistry response is similar!)
I am tempted to ask what university you are at. But you probably haven't said so intentionally, so I will merely learn to curb my curiosity :-)
