For those who know my obsession with accents, this will not be news. I hold the belief that a sexy accent can make a person at least 54.8% more attractive in comparison to someone who has a less than desirable way of speaking. It definitely makes a lot of difference in my view. Does it change your perception of people, in terms of attractiveness levels?
It's not the most insightful conversation to speak of 'type' with regards to fancying someone. Normally will come the response "I don't have a type", or it'll be vague generic aspects that will tend to be similar for many people. I find it interesting when people do go for a certain type, or rule people out immediately if they're lacking a particular quality.
Tall or Short? Skinny or Broad? Blonde or Brunette? Fair-skinned or Dark-skinned? Long or Short Hair? Bearded or Clean Shaven?
Sometimes, I'll make strong statements like: I wouldn't want to go out with someone shorter than me, I wouldn't want to go out with someone younger than me. This are generally accepted as undesirable options in a woman seeking a man. Does it really matter that much?
Would you say there are certain physical points that draw you more to a person? Or are you not so vain or shallow? ;o)

I agree - a sexy accent does make people more attractive, to me at least.
ReplyDeleteI tend to go for skinny guys rather than broad ones tbh. And clean shaven. Other than that I'm really not bothered about anything else appearance-wise.
Personality-wise, he has to be able to have conversation longer than 30 seconds, make me laugh and read lots of books.
That's it really. =)
I'd like to say that physical appearance has no bearing on attractiveness, but that wouldn't be true. That's not to say that 'good-looking' and 'attractive' are the same thing, though, and the cliché is true that without personality you have nothing
ReplyDeleteI tend to find attractive guys who are taller than me. This is unfortunate to say the least. Indeed I can think of several examples of people I would probably have fallen head over heels for if only they had been a few inches taller, but they weren't so I didn't. Does that make me shallow? You can't help who you fancy.
I'm a sucker for the Irish accents...both sides of the boarder, as you probably know - I am marrying an Irish man :oP
ReplyDeleteOf course physical appearance has an effect on me, I'd be lying if I said otherwise.
I also like guys who are taller than me and if he has green eyes I'm a goner. That said looking back at my past relationships you couldn't really spot a trend in terms of the 'look' I go for. Maybe I'm just desperate and go for what's there...aha.
Mmm, Irish accents!
ReplyDeleteAnother random attractiveness trait: I have a thing for guys who are musical, who play a (generally classical) instrument well, or in particular who can sing. Singing ability ups the points big-time, which may explain some of my more dubious crushes from the past!
