LHR SIN

Ten o’clock in the morning.
The ice sticks on the ground
white streets; mud-tainted
Silence.
Crawling along roads with fear
It’s risky at this time of year.

Half past eight in the evening.
People stuck in queues, crowds
hot tea; tired eyes
Waiting.
All flights subject to delay
Christmas is just another day.
Snow, snow, go away...

  1. Tell me about it. It's taking me two days to get a flight that was supposed to last 3 hours. Still, this is much luckier than some! But yeah. Currently writing this from a mysterious land not too far from my final destination.

    But LHR = Hell.

  2. Did you get back okay, Mia? The flight I was concerned about finally took off in the early hours of Tuesday morning :)

Though, I have another one to watch for tomorrow, so I'm keeping those phalanx bones twisted.

  3. Yep, I did indeed, thank you - on Tuesday afternoon, no less. Now I'm just watching out for my friends who are still stuck in the UK.
