It is a fact I am wont to forget, that while life at the moment has its downsides, at least I do not have to revise. I do not have to write a 40-60 page dissertation. I do not have to perform a 15 minute presentation. I do not have to pretend to read 75+ scientific papers. I do not have to spend 9 hours a day skipping between 2 windowless laboratories and a dingy computer room. I do not have to demonstrate my knowledge from the last 4 years to 3 strangers in 20 minutes. I do not have to sit in silence for 3 hours and answer 5 out of 6 questions. This is the first time in over 7 years that I do not have formal summer examinations.
I wish good luck to those who still do.
It's a beautiful birthday*

*apart from the fact that blogger deleted this entry, so I had to type it all out again from memory. Grr.
And those of us that do nothing?
ReplyDeleteBlogger's been playing silly buggers lately. I wanted to comment on this and wish you a happy birthday on the day, but it wouldn't let me.
ReplyDeleteSo belatedly - happy Flix day! Hope it was a good 'un!
And yes - a May to enjoy without exams is a good feeling, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteAh, you had a copy after all.
ReplyDelete+ my other comment from before.
Thank you :). Also I tried to comment several days ago (when this went up) and it wouldn't let me, and I wanted to say belatedly, have a happy birthday - I hope you did - and many happy returns of the day. My mother still has exam-stress-dreams even now. (You know, the kind of dream where you turn up in the exam hall and it's already taken you half the dream to get there but then it turns out you're a) locked out, b)naked, c) in entirely the wrong exam d) completely unprepared, or e)all of the above). I hope you don't suffer the same dreamy fate! xxx
ReplyDeleteLiking the background. Cheers me up.
ReplyDeleteBlogger is peculiar. Somehow, the first comment reappeared, which makes me wonder if the original blog would have, too. However, since I re-published under the same title & time, we shall never know...
ReplyDeleteMy birthday seems so long ago. As do exams. I don't have dreamy-exam-stresses, but I do still have stressy-dreams of all different sorts, so I suppose that makes up for it :-S
I felt a more summery background was fitting for the time of year. Into the blue.
